Charlie and Ollie

By Ellie Sophia / July 1, 2021

I have truly missed having pets in the studio.  For a year I have worked with pets and people strictly outdoors for the safety of everyone involved.  As life has started to return to normal, there was nothing I wanted more than to start working in my studio again.  Charles Goodnight, aka Charlie and Oliver Loving, aka Ollie, couldn't have been a better pair to remind me why I love what I do.  Charlie walked into the studio full of confidence and curiosity.  Rescued in 2016 from Tails and Trails Rescue in Greenwood, Charlie has an active social life and immediately greeted me with kisses.  Ollie who was adopted in 2018 from the Brown County Humane Society, took a little more convincing.  Ollie participates in agility training and excels at learning new tasks and is eager to please, but also tends to shy away from crowds and humans he doesn't know.  My goal in photographing pets is to make sure everyone is having fun.  I prepare for each session by talking with owners and collecting a questionnaire, this allows me to customize my sessions for each pet that enters my doors.  Preparation, patience and lots of treats helped both Charlie and Ollie relax and enjoy their session.  That's when I get to capture the magic of each pet's unique personality. There is no better feeling than knowing you captured the twinkle in a dog's eye.
