In 2018 the Animal Protective Association came up with a brilliant campaign when they coined #grownassadult.  If you aren't familiar with it you must look it up.  It includes images of adoptables with statements like: "You won't catch me humping your loafers, because I am a grown ass adult," or "I like to sleep through the night, I'll bet you do too, because I am a grown ass adult."  The goal was to give older animals a chance to be adopted and the campaign had a big impact.  Pumpkin could have starred in one of those images.  At 8 years old she found herself at Indy Humane waiting to be adopted.  This adorable American Staffordshire Terrier was there for 4 months waiting for her forever home.  She eventually worked her magic on a volunteer that had been resisting getting a dog but who fell in love with Pumpkin's charm.  Now 11 years old, she's daddy's little girl. Her family describes her as the most amazing girl who has made their lives so much richer.  That's what the #grownassadult campaign was all about. Rescuing an older dog often has more rewards than you could ever imagine.
